Support and Love

One of my older sisters wanted to go visit her daughter and asked me to lead her court for two weeks. I didn’t think I was ready, but before I could say anything, she left. I think she did it to boost my confidence in myself. This is where I learned you don’t do everything yourself—I was still kind of young at the time. This was long before I was any kind of Wonderbolt, or even before I could return to Equestria. It was years before my father had taken me and Emerald, forcing us into Great Mother service. Though I digress—I’m getting off topic here. Leading my sister’s court terrified me, but I had her advisors, who told me about all of her court’s rules and traditions. They were very rigid and unmoving, and on top of that, the common fae people had many problems. At first, I worked within the system, but I soon found that some of those rigid rules and traditions stopped me from helping the people. I didn’t make any great changes. I may have overruled some of those old traditions and listened more to the people’s concerns. I learned to delegate to my advisors to get things done. Most of the changes I made were small improvements to the lives of my sister’s subjects. I also added a teleportation grid, which allowed for a more free flow of goods between the towns under her rule. Through all of this, I thought my sister would be angry once she got back. The funny part is—she never left. She had disguised herself as an advisor. She wasn’t mad at all; she was actually rather proud of me. I ruled with compassion, but when I had to be ruthless, I was—in order to protect those who depended on me. I believed I was a servant of the people. My sister ruled the same way. Even now, many years later, there are fae who want me to take up my fae title. My sister did it as an act of love, to boost my confidence in myself. Her name is Kreeva, and she is the Highlady of Winter. I’m really close to her—she’s one of my best friends. Also to add to this as well they were an adoptive family to. Both she and her mate became my adoptive family along with their kids. I was both their aunt and sister. Her mate earned he insisted I call him father which within the fae isn't weird or awkward at all. Between all of my families he gave me stability too. At the time my kitsune parents were on a mission for Inari so they weren't there. It was during my transition from great mother service to freedom and before i returned to Equestria . They knew where i was and often sent letters to me letting me know they loved me. So i was surrounded by love my brother was as well Emerald needed a lot of support too just like I did.
